Maker Lab at Troy-Miami County Public Library

Our space is currently training new staff, performing equipment maintenance, and refreshing the area. We are unable to accept walk-in appointments, and online reservations are very limited.

As we continue making progress on our refresh and building our skills, we will begin opening limited reservation time slots for select equipment. These will be available for specific hours on select days, and availability may change from week to week.

Because these sessions are part of our staff training, not all reservation requests will be approved. Approval will depend on the type and complexity of your project. For accepted requests, our newer staff members will observe you working and may engage in conversation to learn from your experience. As we assist with setup or troubleshooting, please note that things may take a little longer than you may be used to.

We understand this differs from our normal operations, but this approach allows us to create a safe, positive, and successful experience for everyone.

Please note:

  • If a piece of equipment does not appear in the reservation results, it is not currently available.
  • If no hours are listed, that equipment is not available at that time.

We also welcome patrons who are interested in sharing their expertise! If you have a particular specialty and would be willing to donate your time to help train our staff, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Matt at mwatkins@tmcpl.org.

Reservations for the meeting room are unaffected by the staff training and can be reserved as usual.

To submit a reservation for a room, select the date and time that you need to reserve a room and hit the Search bar. You will be given all available options for the provided day and time. If there is no availability, you may be shown availability on a different day or time. (If no rooms are available, and you need a room to accommodate fewer than 8 people, you can check room availability at the Maker Lab in the Hobart Building by clicking here.) Once your reservation has been approved, you will receive an email confirmation within 24 hours during the week.

Please be aware:

  • Online reservations cannot be made the same day.
    • Meeting Rooms require at least a 24-hour approval period to ensure the meeting complies with our Meeting Room Policy. 
  • Reservations made on weekends after the library closes on Friday will not be approved until Monday. If your reservation is before then, please call the library to confirm availability and to be added to our room schedule.
  • Please let us know if you need to cancel your reservation. There is a link to cancel your reservation in the confirmation email, or you can contact us at the email or telephone number listed below.

If you need to place multiple room reservations at once (for instance, if you're a tutor who needs the Study Room on a weekly basis), you can follow this link. Select the location where you would like to book a room, and the capacity you need. Select all the days and times you want, and then click CONTINUE to finalize your bookings.
