Workforce Education - Resumes In-Person
In partnership with Clothes That Work, we will present the following workshops for adults at the library this spring. A grant from the Troy Foundation funds this program.
Thursday. March 13 • 10-11 a.m. - Resume Introduction
The ONLY goal of a resume is to get an interview. Is your resume getting you an interview? In this workshop, participants will learn the following:
- Craft your resume to tell your story and the value you can bring to a potential employer.
- Identify traits and qualities hiring managers are looking for in potential candidates
- Write a resume summary highlighting your strengths
- Learn techniques to help your resume stand out from others
- Identify areas in your current resume that might be problematic
► Registration is required. Please reserve a spot beginning February 27. Participants are encouraged to bring a resume if they have one.
Monday, April 10 • 10-11 a.m. - Interviewing
In this interactive workshop, participants will learn practical skills to help them master any interview, including an opportunity to practice these skills live with the instructor. We will discuss topics such as:
- Making a great first impression
- Answering difficult interview questions
- Marketing yourself – Finding your strengths
